The Bright Thoughts Company
Founded in 1981, as one of the very first British independent television production companies, The Bright Thoughts Company created a significant amount of performance-based programming for Channel 4. In 2025 Bright Thoughts is focused on remastering and marketing its rich catalogue of quality largely unseen television, working with distribution partners and licensing proven entertainment formats to the rapidly evolving entertainment industry.

Neil Anthony"My ambition is for our productions to reach their natural audiences once more. In my opinion they are part of TV and social history and should be findable on the streaming platforms by key-word search.
In the pre-digital age within the broadcast sector, it was generally accepted that once a show had been screened, it had little or no further value, relevance nor interest. We now know of course, this notion to be a flawed concept from the analogue era and evidently is obsolete. It has no place in a digital world of entertainment. |
As broadcast TV loses its grip of nearly a century telling us what we should be watching, the revolution is irreversible as technology steams ahead and their ratings plummet. Streaming has changed the way people consume televised content forever. With AI now super-efficient in tailoring content to meet the needs of the individual.
As an independent content provider, our aim is to make Bright Thoughts shows available internationally working with distribution partners and for our formats and brands to also reach fresh audiences.
In 2025, it would appear there's an emotional thirst for good 'solid' entertainment - music and theatrical performance - from any period in the past 100 years or so. The shift is emotional rather than intellectual. Revivals and reimagining of proven talent and craftsmanship are commonplace. The hunger is for more remastered classic or archive TV content and to watch it on-demand.
With the massive shift in viewing habits, we can assume the trend will continue, viewers switching to subscription services or the free ad-supported streaming services for their content.
Bright Thoughts have always been inclusive and never elitist, we didn't think in terms of 'high' or 'low', or 'posh' or 'common', or 'safe' or 'dangerous', we just loved working with talent. We are confident therefore, viewers will appreciate our approach has always been "entertainment pure and simple.
