Improvisation
Each of these three selected shows have one thing in common, they are all improvised performances and therefore the recording technique is to create the appropriate conditions and environment to best capture the spontaneous artistic delivery and creativity.
Contemporary Jazz and Improvisation
NOTES: Working closely to the brief - with Andy Park - largely due to the challenging nature of improvisation and the realisation of a production which has no/little form or structure:
- Jazz On Four 'Crossing Bridges' - six world renown guitarists of 'free-improvisation' including Ron Geesin, Keith Rowe, Fred Frith, Hans Reichel, John Russell, Brian Godding, recorded in studio. (TX 06/08/83)
- 'Hoarded Dreams' - a commissioned improvised work by jazz composer Graham Collier for the Bracknell Jazz Festival. (TX 06/03/85)
- 'Great Black Music' - the Art Ensemble of Chicago in studio and location in Chicago, Illinois. (TX 1983)
- 'SleeveNotes' - a selection of clips from the music specials, presented by Peter Clayton. (TX 03/11/82)
Commissioning Editor: Andy Park
